In the event that you are unable to participate in the race, you have three options
Defer your entry to the same race in the following year. Please note that requests for deferral must be sent the Friday of the week before the event (October 2nd) by 11:59pm. Additional information below.
Transfer your entry to another runner. Additional information below.
Switch your entry to another ARP event in the same year. Additional information below.
Since the vast majority of race costs are incurred prior to a race and entries are non-refundable, we not issue refunds for races.
How do deferrals work?
You can defer your race entry for $10 to the next year if you can't make it. However you cannot defer the same race entry two years in a row. Once your race is deferred you can no longer transfer it to another race. If you'd like to defer a race, please read the following and click "Deferral Instructions" in bold at the bottom.
Deferrals will be charged $10
You cannot defer an entry two years in a row.
Deferrals must occur no later than Friday the week before the race by 11:59pm, For 2020 that date is October 2nd.
Participant transfer, or bib exchange, is when a bib is transferred from one participant to another in the same race. Example: Amanda is signed up for the Gem City Classic 15K but her childhood bestie is coming into town that weekend, so now Amanda can’t run. Amanda finds someone (Joe) to take her spot in the race. This costs $10 and is paid online through RunSignup.com by the person taking over the bib. Bib transfers must be done no later than the Friday the week before the event by 11:59pm, that is October 2nd in 2020.
Race transfer is switching from one Advanced Running Project race to another. Race transfers cannot be made between an ARP race and any other company. Race transfer requests must be sent by Friday of the week before the event by 11:59pm, that is October 2nd in 2020. You can transfer into any race with open registration. Example: Allison is signed up for the Gem City Classic when she finds out her best friend is having a wedding the same day of the race (how selfish of the friend right?)! So, she transfers to the Old Glory Marathon. This costs $10 + any difference in registration prices and is paid online through RunSignUp.com
